Liow Tiong Lai says he is confident that this will be granted by the end of this year
KUALA LUMPUR: Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) could be granted university status by the end of this year, said Liow Tiong Lai.
“We can apply for university status after being a university college for five years. We will be applying. I am confident that this will be granted by the end of this year,” the MCA president said in his speech at “Going 50: People Behind The TARC History” event today.
Liow is also the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the TAR UC Education Foundation and the Board of Governors of TAR UC.
Hosted by Liow, the event saw the naming of buildings after 10 founding leaders to honour them for their important contributions in the history of TAR UC, reported The Star Online.
TAR UC will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Feb 24, 2019.
