BERITA DAILY LETTER: From Reezal Merican bin Naina Merican, via e-mail

Pakatan Harapan has now exposed itself as a pact built on an equation of distrust and suspicion. The latest formula cooked up by its leaders (PPBM-52, PKR-51, DAP-35, Amanah – 27) clearly shows that Pakatan’s structure lacks the all-important core.

Unlike Barisan Nasional, the squabbling factions within Pakatan will inevitably challenge each other’s standing. And unlike Umno, there is no equal in Pakatan to provide a foundation which can withstand such challenges.

Pakatan’s flawed equation also effectively blocks off any other voice wishing to join the coalition. In contrast, BN has always guaranteed representation of all, based on the values of accomodation and tolerance.

As the core of BN, Umno has long ensured stability amongst other alliance members. This is no small feat, given the diverse social fabric of our beloved country.

On the other hand, elaborate power-sharing calculations such as Pakatan Harapan’s seat distribution have caused political instability in several Western democracies.

In recent years, we have even seen major world leaders fail to get policies enacted due to coalition infighting.

As such, the Malaysian people do not deserve such a hollow pact that is Pakatan Harapan.
