Why does he want to challenge me for debate on the issue when Wee Ka Siong was the one had invited him for a debate, asks the MCA president
SEPANG: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng should first answer questions posed by MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong on the controversial Penang undersea tunnel issue instead of wanting to debate MCA president Liow Tiong Lai.
Liow said instead of challenging him for a debate on the issue, Lim must provide answers to all the questions asked by Wee.
“Why does he want to challenge me for debate on the issue when Wee was the one had invited Lim for a debate and posed questions on the issue?
“This is as if he is trying to divert from the issue and avoid answering the questions,” he told reporters at the launch of six new KLIA Express trains at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here today, the New Straits Times reported.
Last week, Wee had invited Lim for a debate to settle the bickering on the tunnel issue after Lim had labelled the MCA man a “despicable human being”.
Lim however had stated that he would only debate the issue with Liow, who is also the transport minister.
He said it was only fitting for him to debate Liow instead of MCA number two who is Wee, based on the principle of political protocol.
On a separate matter, Liow also said that the unity of Johor MCA was unquestionable as the party and the people in the state continue to be united.
“MCA is doing well here and the people are together. We are confident that Barisan Nasional (BN) will continue to garner the support of the people in the state,” he added.
