The BN chief stresses on the need for all party leaders to stay united and hold on to the spirit of loyalty
PUTRAJAYA: Barisan Nasional chairman Najib Razak has a busy morning today with BN MPs making their way to Seri Perdana for a meeting with their boss.
It is learnt the meeting with the BN chairman is about their GE14 candidacy, reported the Star Online.
The report added that a stream of MPs have been seen entering Seri Perdana since 9am.
Among those seen were Jempol MP Mohd Isa Abdul Samad as well as MIC president and Segamat MP Dr S Subramaniam.
Meanwhile, New Straits Times reported that Perlis Umno chief Shahidan Kassim and Federal Territory MIC chairman M Saravanan also met Najib this morning.
Shahidan told reporters the meeting touched on the need for all party leaders to stay united and hold on to the spirit of loyalty or wala.
He said Najib met all those present in a group,
Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Saravanan said the BN chief spoke about the need for everyone to stay united regardless of whether they were selected as candidates.
“It was a brief session. Among other things, Najib told us on the need to defend BN for the greater good of the country,” he said.
BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor had said that the coalition’s candidates would be made known between 7 and 10 days before nomination day on April 28.
Opposition parties have been making a series on announcement on their candidates over the weekend.
