Chuah Poh Khiang cautioned the public not to fall for a message circulating on WhatsApp stating that assistance would be provided to MCA members in securing zero interest business loans

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA has once again rubbished a viral WhatsApp message claiming the party provides interest-free loans to its members.

The party’s deputy treasurer-general Chuah Poh Khiang cautioned the public not to fall for a message circulating on WhatsApp stating that assistance would be provided to MCA members in securing zero interest business loans.

“MCA headquarters would like to stress that we have never circulated any such message and that the one that went viral was fabricated.

“MCA does not provide any interest-free loans,” said Chuah in a statement on Thursday.

He said the message had been making its rounds for a few months and that MCA had already addressed it in a prior statement clarifying that the message was false.

Chuah said that the parties involved in spreading the message were likely acting on a “malicious political agenda” against MCA.

“I would like to emphasise that MCA will lodge a police report over the circulation of all such false messages,” he said.
